Dinner Recipe For Sugar Gliders No. 1: Meatballs

Evening People!

As you may know from my most recent post, I have told you a bit of my life update and why I was missing but now that I have returned, I will be posting more interesting things for your suggies and how you can manage them better so they feel loved and nourished.

So for today's post, I will be writing a recipe for those newbies out there that are confused on what to feed your little fury friends. I have been doing this for almost a year and I dare say my suggies are happy with everything I feed them and all are healthy little things.

This recipe that I will be sharing is something that I give to my suggies on every other night. I DO NOT recommend it every might but probably once to two times every week. This dinner option is more like a treat or variety to your suggies diet, making them more happy and less cranky. Without further or do here is Dinner Recipe No. 1: Meatballs.

Ingredients Needed For Meatballs are:-
1. Ground Chicken.
2. Oatmeal.
3. An Egg.
4. Any herbs ( I use sweet basil or parsley), chopped finely.
5. Any vegetables ( I like to use carrots, bell peppers), diced.
6. Boiling water.

Equipment Needed:
1. Cutting board and knife.
2. Mixing bowl.
3. 1 tablespoon measuring scoop / 2 tablespoon
4. Zip Lock Bag and a plate.
5. Saucepan

Steps on making the Meatballs:-
To make the meatballs firstly, you have to mix up the ground chicken with the egg. Once fully combined, add in the oatmeal. Now this can be tricky as the ground chicken and the egg will be some what liquid-y therefore when you add the oat meal, you would want the liquid to be slightly absorbed by the oatmeal making it into a paste. When the mixture is malleable ( can be shaped) you have a good consistency. Shape your meatballs using a I tablespoon measuring spoon or I just use two spoons and shape them to my preference. Once shaped place them on your plate and freeze them or an hour or so. Once frozen take out your portion for the night and place the others in your zip lock bag for other meal times for your suggies. Boil water in your saucepan until they are bubbling hot. Then place in gently your meatballs into the water for 5-8 minutes. Once ready, JUST SERVE ( or let it cool down a bit) Super easy and your suggies will love them.

P.S: To make them more full, serve them with fresh fruits at the sides. OR a smoothie for your babies. ;)
This is how I relatively shape my meatballs so two suggies can eat them.

Conclusion:

I usually feed my suggies one meatball for 2 suggies since I have now eight. When in a hurry or in dire need of food I mainly turn to my freezer and boil these babies and serve them instantly. My suggies enjoy them and I am happy to make them since I prepare them on the weekends and the meatballs can last for a long while. Hope you enjoy this dish and meal for your suggies. Do leave a comment or email if you wish for more variety of recipes that I feed my suggies on. All the love from me. Goodnight and take care. XOXO.
